குரங்கின் சேட்டை
ஒரு காட்டில் மரத்தடியில் சிங்கம் ஒன்று உறங்கிக் கொண்டது. அந்த மரத்தில் இருந்த குரங்கு ஒன்று இறங்கி அதன் ஒருபுற காதை இழுத்துக் கொண்டு திரும்ப மரத்தில் மேல் ஏறி உட்கார்ந்து கொண்டு.
இதைப்போல் சிங்கம் அங்கே வரும் குரங்கு காதை இழுத்து விட்டு மரத்தில் மேல் உட்கார்ந்துக் கொள்ளும்.
இது வழக்கமான ஒன்றாக இருந்தது. இதைக் கவனித்த ஒரு ஒநாய் கூட்டம், அந்த குரங்கை பிடித்து சாப்பிட எண்ணியது.
ஒரு நாள் அந்த ஒநாய்கள் மறைந்து இருந்து குரங்கு மரத்தை விட்டு இறங்க காத்திருந்தது.
இதை கவனித்த சிங்கம், குரங்கை பிடிக்க நெருங்கிய ஒநாய்களை அடித்து துரத்தியது. இதைக் கண்ட குரங்குக்கு அச்சம் வந்தது. உடனே குரங்கு சிங்கத்தின் காதை தட்டாமல் மரத்தின் மேல் ஏறியது.
சிங்கம் என்னுடைய காதை தட்டாமல் சென்று விட்டாய் என்றது. அதற்கு குரங்கு பதில் எதுவும் பேசமால் மரத்திலிருந்து.
சிங்கம் சொன்னது, உன் பின்னால் இருக்கும் ஒநாய்களை தெரிந்த எனக்கு நீ செய்யும் சேட்டை எனக்கு தெரியமால் இல்லை.
இதை நான் ரசித்தேன். அதற்காக நீ என்னை என்ன வேண்டுமானலும் நினைத்துக் கொள் என்றது.

A lion was sleeping under a tree in a forest. A monkey from that tree came down and pulled one of its ears and climbed back up the tree and sat down.
