நரியின் அறிவுரை
ஒரு நான், ஒரு நரி அதன் வால் மரத்தின் இடுக்கில் சிக்கியது.
அது பயந்தது, வலியால் அங்கும் இங்கும் துள்ளியது.
அது துள்ளியதில் வால் மட்டும் இடுக்கில் சிக்கி துண்டு ஆனது.
இதனால் தன் வாலை இழந்தது. வால் இல்லாமல், மற்ற நரிகளையும், மற்ற விலங்குகளையும் சந்திக்க கூச்சப்பட்டது.
மற்றவைகள் நம்மை கேலிச் செய்யும் என்று அச்சம் அடைந்த நரி ஒரு யோசனை செய்தது.
நரி ஒரு விருந்து ஏற்பாடு செய்து அனைத்து மிருகங்களை அழைத்தது. அதில் வாலின் நன்மை தீமைங்களைப் பற்றி கூறியது. அதனால் ஏற்படும் ஆபத்துகளை எடுத்துரைத்தது.
ஆகவே இந்த பயனற்ற வால் நமக்கு தேவையில்லை என கூறியது. அதை வெட்ட வேண்டும் என்று கூறியது.
அதற்கு மற்ற விலங்குகள், " உன்னுடைய வாலை நீ இழக்கவில்லையென்றால், எங்களுடைய அழகான வால்களை அகற்றும் படி நீ எங்களை கேட்பாய் என்று நாங்கள் நினைக்கவில்லை".
நீதி: உங்களைத் தன் நிலைக்குத் தாழ்த்த முயல்பவரின் அறிவுரைகளைக் கேட்காதீர்கள்.
A me, a fox with its tail caught in a tree limb.
It was scared, and it was jumping to and fro in pain.
When it jumped, only the tail got caught in the waist and broke into pieces.
It lost its tail. Without a tail, it was scared to meet other foxes and other animals.
Afraid that the others would make fun of us, the fox had an idea.
The fox organized a feast and invited all the animals. It mentioned the pros and cons of valin. It highlighted the dangers involved.
