இயற்கையை வெல்ல முடியுமா?
ஒரு மரத்தடியில் முனிவர் ஒருவர் கண்ணை மூடிக்கொண்டு தியானத்தில் இருந்தார். அப்போது அந்த வழியாக ஒரு பருந்து எலி ஒன்றைத் தூக்கிக்கொண்டு சென்றது. அந்த எலி எப்படியோ வளைந்து நெளிந்து அந்தப் பருந்தின் வாயிலிருந்து தப்பிக் கீழே விழுந்தது. கீழே வந்து கொண்டிருந்த எலி முனிவருடைய கையில் வந்து தொப்பென்று விழுந்தது.
தியானம் கலைந்து கண்விழித்த முனிவர் தன் கையில் விழுந்த எலியைக் கூர்ந்து நோக்கினார் தன் தவ வலிமையனால் ஒரு மந்திரம் கூறி அப்போதே அந்த எலியை ஒர் அழகியெ பெண் குழந்தையாக மாற்றினார். தன் மனைவியிடம் கொடுத்து நன்றாக வளர்க்கும் படி கூறினார். அவ்வாறே முனிவர் மனைவி அந்த அழகிய குழந்தையை வளர்த்துப் பொரியவளாக்கினாள்.
பெரியவளாகிய அந்தப் பெண்ணுக்குத் திருமணம் செய்யவேண்டிப் பருவம் வந்தது. அந்தப் பெண்ணை உலகத்தில் பெரிய பலவான் ஒருவனுக்குத் திருமணம் செய்து கொடுக்க வேண்டும் என்று முனிவர் விரும்பினார். பெரிய பலவான்யாரென்று யோசித்த போது சூரியன்தான் என்று அவருக்குத் தோன்றியது. உடனே அவர் தன் தவசக்தியால், சூரியனைத் தன் முன் வரும்படி கட்டளையிட்டார்.
அவனிடம், " நீ இந்தப் பெண்ணைத் திருமணம் செய்து கொள்" என்று கூறினாார்.
அதற்குச் சூரியன், ' முனிவரே என்னைக் காட்டிலும் பலவான் என்னை மறைக்கும் மேகம் தான் அவனுக்குக் கட்டிக் கொடுப்பது தான் சிறப்பு ' என்று சொல்லிவிட்டுப் போய்விட்டான்.
முனிவர் மேகத்தை அழைத்தார். மேகம் வந்து " ஐயா, முனிவரே என்னைக் காட்டிலும் பலவான். என்னைத் தூள்தூளாகப் பறக்கச் செய்யும் காற்றுதான். காற்றுக்கே கல்யாணம் செய்து வையுங்கள்" என்று சொல்லிவிட்டுப் போனான்.
காற்றை அழைத்து முனிவர் தம் பெண்ணைத் திருமணம் செய்து கொள்ளச் சொன்னார்.
"என்னை மறைத்துத் தடுத்துவிடும் சக்தி பெற்ற மலையைக் காட்டிலும் நான் பலவான் அல்ல! அந்த மலைக்கே உங்கள் பெண்ணைக் கொடுப்பதுதான் பொருந்தும்" என்று சொல்லி விட்டுப்போய் விட்டான் காற்று.
மலையரசனை அழைத்துத் தன் மகளை ஏற்றுக்கொள்ளும்படி கூறினார் முனிவர்.
உலகத்தில் நான் என்ன பலவான்? என்னை அறுத்தெடுக்கும் எலியே பலவான். எலியரசனுக்கே இவள் ஏற்றவள் என்று ஆலோசனை கூறிவிட்டு அகன்றான் மலையரசன்.
முனிவர் எலியரசனை அழைத்து. தன் மகளை திருமணம் செய்துக் கொள்ளும்படி கோறினார்.
" முனிவரே, இவள் என் வளைக்குள் வந்தால் நான் இவளை மணம்புரிந்துக்கொள்கிறேன்" என்று எந்தவித மறுப்பும் இல்லாமல் எலியரசன் கூறினார்.
பெண் எப்படி வலைக்குள் போக முடியும்? ஆகையால் மறுபடியும் எலியாக்கி வலைக்குள் அனுப்பினார் முனிவர்.
பெண்ணாக மாறிய எலி மீண்டும் எலியாகவே ஆகிவிட்டது.
எலியரசன் அவளை மணம்புரிந்துக் கொண்டான். இன்பமாக அந்தப் பெண்னெலியுடன் வாழ்ந்து வந்தான்.
A sage was meditating under a tree with his eyes closed. Then a hawk passed by carrying a mouse. The mouse somehow squirmed and escaped from the hawk's mouth and fell down. The rat coming down landed on the sage's hand and fell down.
The sage woke up from his meditation and looked closely at the mouse that fell in his hand and with the power of his penance chanted a mantra and immediately transformed the mouse into a beautiful baby girl. He told him to give it to his wife and raise it well. In the same way, the sage's wife brought up that beautiful child and made her golden.
When the girl grew up, it was time to get married. The sage wanted the girl to be married off to one of the most powerful men in the world. When he thought of the great power, he thought it was the sun. At once he commanded the Sun to appear before him by his penance.
Get married."
To which the sun said, 'Sage, the one who is stronger than me is the cloud that covers me and the special thing is that I give him a hug' and went away.
The sage called the cloud. The cloud came and said, "Sir, the sage is stronger than me. It is the wind that makes me fly to dust. Get married to the wind."
The sage called the wind and asked him to marry his girl.
"I am not stronger than the mountain that has the power to hide me! It is only fitting that you give your girl to that mountain" and left.
The sage called Malayarasan and asked him to accept his daughter.
What in the world am I strong? Strong is the rat that cuts me off. After suggesting that she is suitable for Eliyarasan himself, Malayarasan got excited.
Sage Eliyarasan was called. He asked him to marry his daughter.
"Sage, if she comes within my fold I will marry her," Eliarasan said without any objection.
How can a woman get into the net? So the sage again turned it into a mouse and sent it into the net.
A mouse that turned into a woman has become a mouse again.
Eliarasan married her. He lived happily with that woman.
