நாரையும், நரியும் (The stork and the fox)
ஒரு நரியும், ஒருநாரையும் நல்ல நண்பர்களாக இருந்தன. அதில் நரி மட்டும் கொஞ்சம் சுயநலத்துடன் நடந்துக் கொள்ளும். நரி ஒருமுறை நரையை தனது வீட்டிற்கு இரவு விருந்துக்கு அழைத்தது. அன்று மாலை நாரை நரியின் வீட்டிற்கு பறந்துச் சென்று தனது நீண்ட அலகினால் கதவைத் தட்டியது. நரியும் கதவைத் திறந்து, அன்புடன் உள்ளே அழைத்து. சிறிது நேரம் பேசிக் கொண்டு, பிறகு உணவு உண்ண சென்றன.
நாரை மேஜையில் உட்கார்ந்தது. மிகுந்த பசியுடன் இருந்த அதற்கு உணவு ஒரு கிண்ணத்தில் பரிமாறப்பட்டது. அந்த உணவின் மனம் மேலும் அதற்கு பசியைத் தூண்டியது. ஆனால், தன் நீண்ட அலகால் அந்த கிண்ணத்தில் இருந்த உணவை உண்ண முடியவில்லை. நாரை அதை வெளிப்படுத்தாமல் கண்ணியமான முறையில் பசியுடன் அமைதியாக இருந்தது.
" நாரை, நீ ஏன் உணவை உண்ணவில்லை? உனக்கு இந்த உணவு பிடிக்கவில்லையா?" என்று நரி கேட்டது. அதற்கு நாரை, "நீங்கள் என்னை இரவு உணவிற்கு அழைத்தது எனக்கு மிகவும் சந்தோஷமாயிருந்தது. அதைப் போல் நீங்களும், நாளை தயவுசெய்து என் வீட்டின் இரவு விருந்துக்கு வர வேண்டும் என்று அழைத்தது.
அடுத்த நாள், நரி நாரையின் வீட்டிற்கு வந்தது. பிறகு இரவு உணவு உண்ண தாயார் ஆனது. நரிக்கு நாரை ஒரு உயரமான குஜாவில் உணவு பரிமாறப்பட்டன. நாரை அதிலிருந்த உணவை எளிதாக எடுத்து உண்ணத் தொடங்கியது. ஆனால் நரியால் முடியவில்லை. பிறகு எதுவும் சொல்லாமல் பட்டினியுடன் அங்குயிருந்து சென்றது.
நீதி: "ஒரு சுயநலச் செயல் உங்களுக்குப் பின்னடைவை ஏற்படுத்தும்".
A fox and a fox were good friends. Only the fox behaves a little selfishly. A fox once invited a fox to his house for dinner. The next day, the fox came to the stork's house. Then mother came to have dinner. Fox and stork were served food in a tall kuja. The stork easily took the food from it and started eating it. But the fox could not. Then went away starving without saying anything.
