கழுதையும், வண்ணானும்
ஒரு ஊரில் வண்ணான் ஒருவன் இருந்தான். அவன் கழுதை ஒன்றை வளர்த்து வந்தான். அதில் தன் அழுக்கு துணி மூட்டைகளை யெல்லாம் அதன்மேல் ஏற்றி ஆற்றுக்கு எடுத்து சென்று, அங்கு துவைத்த முடித்த துணிகளை பின் மீண்டும் ஏற்றிக்கொண்டுவருவான்.
ஆனால், அதற்கு உண்டான உணவை அவர் சரியாக வைப்பதில்லை, இருந்தும் கழுதையின் வயிற்றை நிரப்ப அவன் ஒரு வேலை செய்தான்.
இரவு நேரத்தில் அந்தக் கழுதையின் மேல் ஒரு புலித்தோலைப் போட்டுப் போர்த்தி, அதை அருகில் உள்ள வயலில் மேயவிட்டு விடுவான். கழுதை வயிறு நிறையப் பச்சைப் பயிரை மேய்ந்து நன்றாகக் கொழுந்து வளர்ந்தது. வண்ணானுக்கும் மிகுந்த வேலை பார்த்தது.
இரவில் வயலைக் காவல் செய்பவர்கள் கழுதையைக் கண்டவுடன் புலி என்று நினைத்துக்கொண்டு பயந்து ஓடிப்ே பே போவார்கள். அது வேண்டுமட்டும் மேய்ந்து விட்டுப் போகும். இப்படி நெடுநாள் நடந்து வந்தது.
